Will USA COntinue Its Domination Of South Korea?

South Korea, while ranked a respectable 20th in the FIFA women’s rankings, hasn’t provided much resistance in the past in this matchup. The Americans have racked up an 11-0-5 record against South Korea to remain unbeaten.

However, they last played in 2021 in a similar two-game friendly set. The USWNT won 6-0 in the second game, though the first ended in a 0-0 draw.

While South Korea has a handful of players performing for top American and English clubs, they missed qualifying for the Olympics, struggling to a 1-0-2 record that allowed North Korea to barely advance. The USWNT did make it in and begins its matches on July 25 in France.

In the meantime, the two teams will play these scheduled friendlies as the U.S. looks to transition to a new era. Emma Hayes takes over as head coach, helming the team for the first time here. It’s the first of four friendlies prior to Olympic play.
